Tools & content disclaimer
The tools teach and estimate. Codes govern, qualified people verify, and nothing here energizes a panel.
Short version: our free tools teach and estimate — they do not replace a qualified person standing in front of your equipment.
The calculators and trainers
- The 52 calculators and troubleshooting trainers on this site are provided for education and estimation only. They use standard formulas and representative values, and we test them carefully — but they cannot see your machine, your installation, or your conditions.
- Codes govern. Results that touch electrical sizing — overload setpoints, conductor voltage drop, motor currents — must be verified against the current NEC and your local amendments by a qualified person before anyone acts on them. A calculator's output is a starting point, never an authority.
- Safety is not simulated. Real 480 V equipment can kill. Nothing on this site qualifies anyone to work on energized equipment. Only qualified persons, following NFPA 70E and your site's lockout/tagout procedures, should open a panel.
Site content generally
Articles and pages here are general information, not engineering services and not advice for your specific situation. We accept engagements for the real thing — that is the actual job — but until we have seen your equipment, nothing here is a recommendation about it.
