Most plants will not let a contractor near a panel without knowing what training they hold. Here is ours, plainly.

Training we hold

• OSHA 10 and 30 — the baseline most plants check for before granting site access.
• NFPA 70E arc flash — required by a growing number of plants before anyone opens a live 480 V enclosure, and increasingly the thing that decides whether a contractor gets to do the work at all.
• Lockout / tagout — verified isolation, performed the same way every time rather than the way that is quickest today.

Other training, as your site requires

That list is what we hold as standard, not a ceiling. Plants have their own requirements — confined space, fall protection, respirator fit testing, forklift or aerial lift certification, hazmat awareness, food-safety or GMP induction, or a site-specific contractor orientation. If your facility requires training we do not currently hold, tell us and we will get it.

We would rather complete a certification than talk you into letting us on site without it. Ask early in the conversation so it does not delay the work.

Where the standard comes from

Francisco's technical training began in the military, and then continued through thirteen years in plants, field service and controls work. Military technical training sets the bar for procedure and documentation higher than most of industry runs, and that is the habit we brought with us: work the procedure in order, record what you find, and do not skip a step because you are confident.

How we work on your site

• We isolate before we work, and we verify the isolation rather than assuming it. Every energy source, not just the obvious one.
• We follow your site's LOTO procedure, not ours, where they differ.
• We will say no to a job we are not equipped to do safely. That is not us being difficult — it is the same judgement that keeps your people safe.

Safety and diagnosis are the same discipline

The reason a good technician is safe is the same reason they are accurate: they take readings instead of making assumptions. Proving a circuit is dead and proving a motor has a shorted winding are the same act performed with the same meter.
