Training your team

On-site, remote, written, or long-term apprentice development — taught from the same 52 interactive tools we give away free.

We have published 52 free calculators and troubleshooting trainers because the knowledge in this trade sits mostly in people's heads, and that is a fragile place to keep it. Training is the same idea, delivered to your team.

Why this is worth paying for

Every plant we walk into has the same problem in some form. One person knows the equipment. When they are on holiday, on nights, or gone, the plant is diagnosing blind — and the cost of that shows up as callouts, wrong parts, and outages that lasted longer than they needed to.

Training does not replace us. It reduces how often you need us, which is a strange thing for a service company to sell and exactly why we think it is worth selling.

How we deliver it

On site, on your equipment

The highest-value version. We train your technicians on the machines they actually maintain, with your fault history and your quirks, rather than on a generic rig. What they learn on Tuesday applies on Wednesday.

Remote and video sessions

Live sessions over video, using our interactive trainers as the shared screen. Your team works a simulated fault while we talk through the reasoning. This works well for multi-site teams and for anywhere outside our drive radius — we deliver it nationwide.

Written procedures and PM programmes

A deliverable rather than a session. We document the troubleshooting procedures for your critical equipment and build the PM schedule — tasks, intervals, and what "good" looks like for each reading — so your team can run it without us in the room. This is also what a PM agreement includes.

Apprentice development

Ongoing coaching for junior technicians over weeks or months. The trade has an obvious problem: experienced people are retiring and the pipeline behind them is thin. We work with your apprentices on the reasoning, not just the tasks — how to decide what to measure next, which is the part that takes years to pick up alone.

What we cover

Anything on our capabilities list, but the requests that come up most:

  • Electrical troubleshooting — motor control circuits, contactors and overloads, three-phase motor testing, working a circuit in order with a meter
  • VFDs — reading fault codes, proving the fault at the terminals rather than trusting the display
  • Instrumentation — 4–20 mA loops, transmitter calibration, why a reading drifts
  • Rotating equipment — bearing failure modes, alignment, belt and chain drives, pump problems
  • Lockout / tagout — verified isolation done the same way every time. See our free LOTO trainer
  • Reading the numbers — MTBF, availability, OEE and criticality scoring, so your team can argue for maintenance budget with data

Try the material before you buy it

Our 52 trainers and calculators are free and public, with no sign-up. They are the same material we teach from. If your team finds them useful, a session will be useful too — and if they do not, you have lost nothing.

Scope and cost

Training is quoted against what you need rather than sold as a fixed course, because a half-day on VFD faults for two technicians and a three-month apprentice programme are not the same product. Tell us who needs training, on what equipment, and how deep you want to go — (562) 805-3250.
