Questions we get asked
Response times, rates, minimums, parts, and what we will and will not take on — answered plainly.
How fast can you be on site?
Within 24 hours across our service area — Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties. When you call we will tell you when we can actually be there rather than giving a best-effort promise.
Do you take after-hours and weekend calls?
Yes. After-hours, weekend and shutdown work is billed at the higher hourly rate from the first hour — $175 with a PM agreement, $250 without — with no separate surcharge on top. If your only window is a Saturday night changeover, that is usually the right time for us to be there.
What do you charge?
Hourly with a four-hour minimum. With a PM agreement it is $125 per hour for the first eight hours in a day and $175 beyond that. Without one it is $200 and $250. We also quote flat rate for defined-scope jobs.
Why is the rate lower with a PM agreement?
Because we already know your equipment. We hold the baseline readings and we know what is installed, so we are not spending the first two hours of an emergency call working out how your plant is put together. That saving is real and we pass it on.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes, four hours on a call-out or PM visit \u2014 that covers the drive and the diagnostic time, which is where most of the value is on a first visit. On a retainer the minimum is two hours, and the clock starts when we leave for your site rather than when we arrive.
Do you supply parts?
Your choice, per job. Supply them yourself and we add nothing. Or we source them at cost plus 20%, which covers finding the right part, getting it here, and carrying the warranty if it fails. If you have preferred vendors, use them.
Will you work alongside our own maintenance team?
That is most of what we do. Plenty of plants have good technicians and no bandwidth. We are comfortable being an extra pair of hands during a shutdown, a second opinion on a fault that has beaten someone twice, or the people who write the PM programme your team then runs.
What equipment do you work on?
Rotating equipment, electrical and controls, fluid power, and process instrumentation — motors, pumps, gearboxes, VFDs, Allen-Bradley PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics and 4-20 mA loops. The full list is on the capabilities page.
What do you not do?
No commercial HVAC or refrigeration, and no structural, plumbing or general building trades. We work on production machinery and the controls that run it.
Can you help if we are outside Southern California?
Remotely, yes. Phone and video diagnosis with your technician holding the meter, review of PLC programs, drive parameters or trend data, and training and procedure writing over video.
Do you do PLC and automation work?
Yes — Allen-Bradley and Rockwell systems. Troubleshooting and modifying existing logic, adding I/O, HMI and SCADA screens, getting machines onto a network so you can see parameters from a computer, and dashboards with alerting when a value drifts.
Is your crew safety trained?
Yes. OSHA 10 and 30, NFPA 70E arc flash, and lockout/tagout. Francisco's technical training began in the military, where documentation and procedure are held to a higher standard than most of industry runs.
What are your hours?
The phone is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and a technician picks up. On-site work runs Monday to Friday, 3:00 am to 1:00 pm — the early start is deliberate, it means we are on site for first shift, often before your line starts. After hours and weekends by arrangement, at the higher rate.
How do I get the most out of the first call?
Have the fault code, the nameplate data — voltage, horsepower, full-load amps — what the machine was doing before it stopped, and what has already been tried. Our free calculators and trainers cover most of the readings we would ask for.
Something not answered here?
Call (562) 805-3250. The phone is answered by a technician, so you can ask an equipment question and get a real answer rather than a callback.
Machine down, or planning ahead?
Call and you get a technician, not a call centre. On-site across Southern California, remote support nationwide.
